The modern western “Longmire” has been renewed for a third TV season by the A&E cable network. According to the 'Hollywood Reporter' on Thursday Aug. 29, 2013 at approximately 4:45 p.m. John Coveny went on the social network called, “Twitter” to announce the news. He is an executive producer plus co-creator of the show. "Thanks to the 5 million plus weekly fans (live+7). Young and older skewing alike! The call just came: Season 3 for 'Longmire' is a go!" The contract negotiations are not yet set on the next TV season.
According to the official website “TV by the numbers” that tracks ratings for all of television. The 12th “Longmire” episode called, “A Good Death is Hard to Find” grabbed 4.122 million TV viewers for the week ending Aug. 25, 2013. It placed number 13 out of the top 25 cable shows. TV numbers were finally ready by Wednesday Aug. 28, 2013.
“Longmire” is the highest rated TV drama on the A&E cable network. The first TV season brought record ratings for a 10 episode run. It climbed even higher with the second TV season with 13 episodes. The season finale called, “ Bad Medicine” which aired Aug. 26, 2013 nabbed 4.419 million TV viewers. The western aired all summer each Monday evening at 10/9 p.m.
“Bad Medicine” was also a cliffhanger as Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) was arrested for the murder of the man who killed his best friend's wife. Also, Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) was shot while gathering evidence near a Cheyenne Indian burial site. Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) had to carry him from the site. Will he live or die? Who really shot him? Fans of the show will get to see more after Thursday's announcement of the third TV season.

It has flourished at the Foreign box office grabbing $143,800,000. The production costs are estimated to be $215 million, but rumored to have risen to at least $250 million.
As Disney claims to write off $190 million for the next quarter profits. The film is creeping up on making $250 million & it has yet to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
