Turquoise announced the 2010 color of the year

On December 8th, PANTONE®  announced their color of the year, PANTONE® 15-5519 Turquoise.  A safe yet refreshing choice, turquoise is universally flattering and is typically responded to positively by both men and women.  Named after the hue of the natural stone, turquoise has been commonly used in it's natural state in jewelry. However it has recently become more mainstream and can be used in a number of applications, including home decor.

With both warm and cool undertones, turquoise will be an easy color to pair in with other colors in your design scheme.   Add a turquoise accessory to your neutral decor to create unexpected excitement. If your scheme has reds or pinks, turquoise can be a refreshing compliment. I especially love deep blue and turquoise together. It creates a very sophisticated and classic look, although an unusual combination I have had to defend more than once.

Use turquoise in your home decor to trigger thoughts of escape from the everyday troubles, soothing waters, and warm breezes, all which evoke a sense of well needed restoration and relaxation for 2010.
