Turning breezy and milder with a wind advisory in effect this afternoon (Photos)

Low pressure to our north in Canada will bring a warm front through the region this morning with a chance of showers, possibly mixed with sleet in the colder spots, but no major issues are expected. Milder temperatures and windy conditions will then arrive this afternoon as the region will be in the warm sector, but an approaching cold front will arrive late in the day into this evening with a chance of rain showers. High pressure will then return for Monday with sunshine and continued mild temperatures, before the front pushes back north as a warm front on Monday night with rain showers and perhaps a thunderstorm. Much of the remainder of the week looks very unsettled as the front will linger near the region.

  • A Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday for the Greater Capital Region and the Lake George/Saratoga Region. Increasing southerly winds at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are possible on Sunday afternoon. Unsecured outdoor objects and tree limbs may succumb to the winds.
