The new Special Operations Golf Tournament of South Florida, to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), will be held at the great Turnberry Isle Miami resort in Aventura, Fla., on May 18. This inaugural event, held during Armed Forces Day weekend, has already gained impressive support from major corporations and philanthropists, including Donald Trump, who owns the Trump National Doral resort in Miami.

Founded in 1980, the SOWF, based in Tampa, is ranked among the top one percent of the nation’s nonprofits. The charity provides funds for a post-secondary education to the surviving children of U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations troops killed in the line of duty. SOWF offers academic, grief and family counseling to surviving spouses, and their children, of special operations personnel who lose their lives in service to our nation, and provides immediate financial assistance to families of hospitalized special operators.
The SOWF’s low overhead of 5.5 percent ensures that the majority of the funds donated go directly to these programs.
Turnberry Isle Miami is a Mediterranean-style resort that spans 300 acres between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
