Turn your articles into awards at the 2013 Griot Awards

If you are an African American journalist or a journalist who has written on matters related to the African American community then you can possibly win the prestigious Griot Award, held by the National Association of Black Journalists in conjunctions with the DFW Association of Black Journalists. The deadline for submissions is Sun., Feb. 17, 2013. This coveted award recognizes exemplary coverage concerning African Americans. This competition is open to all professional journalists in print, broadcast, new media and photojournalism.

Here are the rules in case you are interested in submitting your future award winning piece:

Any submitted materials must be original and have been originally published or broadcast between Jan. 1, 2012 and Dec. 31, 2012. If you have more than one piece for various outlets then you can submit on behalf of any media medium which are newspaper, photo, television and radio.

The entry fee is $20 for DFWABJ members and $40 for non-members per entry. Entries after deadline is $40 for members and $75 for non-members. All fees are nonrefundable and you must submit at three (3) copies of each entry.
