Turn back the clock as Sharon Community Chorus presents 'Malt Shoppe Memories'

With the popularity of the hit musical, ‘Jersey Boys’on Broadway and as ‘Jersey Boys’ hits the big screen this month directed by Clint Eastwood, it seems audiences are anxious to turn back the clock!

Sharon Community Chorus is thrilled to present this year’s annual Pops concert theme, 'Malt Shoppe Memories' taking place on Friday, June 13 at 8 p.m. An encore performance will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s music journey explores beloved classics such as ‘Stand by Me,’ ‘Great Balls of Fire,’ ‘Blue Suede Shoes,’ ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ and ‘Monster Mash.’ With director Brett Hinkel with accompanist Ed Barresi, the Sharon Community Chorus will also perform catchy melodies of ‘Jersey Boys,’ ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe,’ and ‘Back to the Fifties!’

Both performances will take place at The First Congregational Church of Sharon, 29 North Main Street in Sharon, Massachusetts. A raffle will be held and refreshments will be available. The Sharon Community Chorus is a group of male and female amateur singers from diverse musical backgrounds dedicated to entertaining the community since they were founded in 1967. The talented group performs public and private concerts throughout the year including Holiday and Classical concerts. They have room for new members who also have a passion for music.
