Turn a hissing roach into a kissing roach for Valentine's Day

Love may be eternal, but then again so are roaches, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society, which is once again inviting the public to name a Madagascar hissing roach in honor of someone near and dear to their heart this Valentine’s Day.

“By doing so, you can show them that you've noticed how resilient, resourceful, and loyal that person is. You're not afraid to say, ‘Baby, you're a roach!’” exclaim the program’s promoters at the Bronx Zoo, which currently cares for 58,000 of these brown, iridescent beauties, “most of whom go humbly by ‘whatchamacallit.’"

In addition to being able to name one for your sweetheart (or even someone you don’t love for that matter) and sending them a truly unique certificate of honor, each $10 donation will go toward helping the WCS conserve the species as well as other wildlife in the forests of Madagascar.
