Turmeric Face Mask

Turmeric, a personal favourite, is known for it's anti-inflammatory properties to fight disease but it's also traditionally used as a beauty treatment by Indian brides before their wedding to give them glowing skin. It's no wonder, it has anti-inflammatory properties that are perfect for skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis, it's full of antioxidants which slow down cell damage making it anti-aging and it exfoliants, evening out skin tone.

So how do you reap these benefits?

Here's a basic recipe:

- 2 tablespoons of chickpea flour.
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- Enough milk or yogurt (if you want a more anti-acne mask) to mix into a paste.

Apply an even layer on your face and chill out for 15-20 minutes, you may want to hide away from family members since this is quite a bright face mask and a little reminiscent of an oompa loompa. Once you've finished 15-20 minutes of relaxing or watching certain musical scenes in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", use lukewarm water to gently rinse off with your fingers and then use a washcloth to take off the rest.

Note: it will stain a white wash cloth pretty badly, so you may want to buy darker colored ones to use or designate one or two to be stained and used again.
