Turay to sign an official Letter of Intent with Rutgers on Wednesday (Photos)

We are just hours away from the NCAA National Signing Day. Yet, high school football players have been making their future plans before the big day.

That includes Kemoko Turay, who announced late Tuesday night that he will attend Rutgers University in the future. He will officially sign his Letter of Intent to play at Rutgers on Wednesday.

Rutgers offered Turay a scholarship in June 2012 after a single workout. Kyle Flood, Rutgers head coach, says the potential that the Barringer High School athlete can add to the Scarlet Knights roster.

“God works in mysterious ways, especially with this fantastic chance that he brought to us,” said Vakaba Turay.

He played for Barringer High School since his high school Newark Tech does not have a football team.

“I wasn’t really surprised because in my mind when my coach said that I couldn’t do this, all I had in my mind was that I’m going to do this,” Turay said. “That’s all I had in my mind. I wasn’t really surprised. I said I was going to get 17, 16 sacks. I was going to pass the guy that led in sacks two, three years ago.”
