The information of an unknown number of Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest users is at risk after computer service software provider Zendesk was hacked.
Zendesk CEO Mikkel Svane has this to say in the company blog:
"Our ongoing investigation indicates that the hacker has access to the support information that three of our customers store on our system....We believe that the hacker downloaded email addresses of users who contacted those three customers for support,as well as support email subject lines."
At this point it is not clear how the Zendesk attack was executed, but the company says it conducting an investigation.
Zendesk says passwords were not revealed, as it seems the only data pilfered was email addresses and subject lines, though it is possible some phone numbers were compromised as well.
