On Sunday, November 1, 2013, the Tulsa Shocks electrified the New York Liberty with an amazing game performance from Riquna Williams, Candice Wiggins and Courtney Paris. Even though the Shocks are out of playoff contention, they continue to play with heart as if they are competing for a championship banner.
Riquna Wiggins, who has been one of the consistent scorers ripped the Liberty team for 22 points, while Candice Wiggins lit them up for 25 points. Skylar Diggins gave a helping hand with 14 points. Although Courtney Paris only had 10 points, she grabbed 13 rebounds and the Shocks went on to a 93-88 win.
The Shocks have played some amazing games where they seemed to be unstoppable. There have been players who have stepped up big to carry the Shocks to a win or kept the Shocks close to try and grind out a win. Liz Cambage, who is out with an ankle injury, and Glory Johnson have been two of these players.
No matter what their record shows and no matter that they will not make the playoffs, the Shocks came to every game ready to play and win.
