The Tulsa Shocks are beginning to show signs of a contending championship team.
On Friday, August 16, 2013, the Shocks showed the Minnesota Lynx just how tough they can really be when they get great shooting, rebounding and dominating in the paint from their players.
Nicole Powell, Angel Goodrich, Candice Wiggins and Skylar Diggins each scored 11 points while Tiffany Jackson scored 10 points. But the big scoring of that game went to the Shocks 6'8" center, Liz Cambage, who scored 27 points. When she was not double teamed by members of the Lynx, she was able to hit some great shots and when she was double teamed, other Tulsa Shocks stepped up and knocked down the big shots.
Another Tulsa scorer, Gloria Jackson, did not play due to a concussion.
If the Shocks can get everybody healthy before the playoffs, they may just be one of the surprising teams that could possibly make it to the championship game.
The Tulsa Shocks have six home games left out of the nine remaining games for the season.
