Tulsa Garden Center learning events in September

Gardening is an ongoing learning experience and the Tulsa Garden Center provides lots of opportunities every month to add to your knowledge.

This month Karen Watkins will be teaching a class on designing and planting a fall flowering container garden. Class will be held on Wednesday, September 3 with a time choice of either 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. or 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The registration fee is $20 for Tulsa Garden Center members and $25 for non-members. The cost includes a container, plants and soil. Advance registration is required by calling 918-746-5125 or going to the Tulsa Garden Center's website.

The Tulsa Garden Center's Library Book Discussion Club is held the third Tuesday of each month from 12 - 1 p.m. This month Sandy Cox will review the book "Meditations on Garden Themes" by Josephine Robertson. The discussion is free and the public is invited to attend.

The Brown Bag Lunch Lecture will be about the Up With Trees program. Steve Grantham, the executive director of Up With Trees, will discuss the whys and costs of planting trees around Tulsa. The talk will be on Thursday, September 18 from noon - 1 p.m. and is open to the public.

The Tulsa Garden Center is located at 2435 S. Peoria Avenue and is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
