Memphis is too strong for Tulsa. It proved it Saturday as it rolled to a 94-64 win over the Golden Hurricane at the Fed Ex Forum.
The Tigers (18-3 overall, 7-1 in Conference USA) were led by Antonio Barton, who scored 16 points. D.J. Stephens also had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and Chris Crawford netted 12.
Kauri Black led TU (12-10, 4-4) with 14 points. Scottie Haralson scored 13, Pat Swilling Jr. got 11 and Rashad Ray made 10. Haralson also dished three 3s.
Memphis out-boarded TU, 45-33.
Tulsa shot 34 percent (19-of-56) from the field, 47 percent (7-of-15) from the 3-point circle and 73 percent (19-of-26) from the free throw line.
The Tigers converted 49 percent (32-of-66) in field goals, 46 percent (12-of-26) in 3-pointers and hit 69 percent (18-of-26) with its foul shots.
Memphis led 49-32 at halftime and had its largest at 35 points, with the score being 79-44 with 8:04 to go.
TU returns home to meet UAB Wednesday night. Game time starts at 7 p.m.
