Shaquille Harrison scored 17 points, Tim Peete got 12 and James Woodard and Brandon Swannegan each got 11 as Tulsa beat Florida International 77-65 Saturday in Miami.
The win marked the fifth straight for the Golden Hurricane, who used a strong second half en route to the win.
TU (15-12 overall, 10-3 in Conference USA) was down by a touchdown at halftime, but used a 10-1 run to go on top 38-36 early in the second half.
The Panthers drew within a deuce at 51-49 after a pair of free throws from Dennis Mavin. Tymell Murphy led FIU with 19 points, Mavin scored 18 and Rakeem Buckles scored 10.
TU would seize back the advantage. It finished the game with 46 percent (21-of-46) shooting, 33 percent (4-of-12) in 3-pointers and 65 percent (31-of-48) from the foul line.
FIU finished with 35 percent (19-of-55) from the field, 33 percent (5-of-15) in 3s and 69 percent (22-of-32) in free throws.
Tulsa, outrebounded the Panthers 46-27, will play on the road Thursday against UTEP. That game starts at 8 p.m.
