2011 will soon be over and while we are looking ahead to the new year let's also take a moment to reflect on the past year. In Tulsa remembering 2011 probably brings to mind the weather. Towards the beginning of the year in February brought snow- lots of snow. A record breaking 14 inches of snow in one day and a blizzard that practically closed Tulsa down for days. Eventually we did manage to recover and make it out. But, then in the summer as Oklahoma does seem to go from one extreme to another we hit a record breaking heat wave. With numerous days hitting at or above 100 degrees which had most of us looking for the nearest pool or splash pad. And then in the fall we had the strongest earthquake in state history and many little ones too. But, that's not to say there wasn't some of the usual happenings around Tulsa. We still had plenty of spring fun like Mayfest and fall festivals like the Tulsa state fair -etc. And there was still plenty of holiday cheer with Christmas lights all around, and holiday fun downtown, and even two parades to celebrate the season! And of course there was plenty of national and international news- who could forget the royal wedding and other big stories of 2011. Well, here's hoping you all had a good year and will have a wonderful new year as well!
