The Manti Te’o saga has taken some wild turns over the past two weeks, and now, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo claims he was molested as a child. Tuiasosopo confessed this during Friday’s airing on “Dr. Phil.”
Ronaiah Tuiasosopo joined Dr. Phil on his show to discuss the on-going Manti Te’o controversy. On his show, Tuiasosopo admitted to tricking Te’o by disguising his voice over the phone to pretend that he was not only a girl, but a girl who eventually would become Te’o’s girlfriend.
Tuiasosopo also managed to tell Dr. Phil that he’s gay, although he seemed to suggest that his homosexuality was something he was hoping to either get over or move beyond.
But on Friday, things came a little more into focus when Tuiasosopo talked about being molested as a kid. Saying that he was molested at the age of 12 by a friend of the family, Tuiasosopo refused to actually give any names or explicit details of his alleged molester.
Tuiasosopo claims he invented a woman named Lennay Kekua, and then purposefully carried on a “relationship” with Te’o under the fake female persona.
Manti Te'o finished his career at Notre Dame with a loss in the BCS Championship Game. He'll now enter the 2013 April NFL Draft.
