Tuesday: Two events to promote peace between Palestine and Israel

Two events are planned on Tuesday at The Ohio State University to support peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

From 6 to 7 p.m. there will be a Tax Day protest at the corner of 15th Avenue and North High Street in front of the OSU campus, calling for an end to U.S. military aid to Israel.

On Tax Day there will be demonstrations across the United States and U.S. embassies around the world to make the case that our tax dollars would be better spent on domestic programs, such as green jobs and affordable housing. For more information, contact

At 7 p.m. Matthew Frankel will speak on The Power of Positivity in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict at Jacob's Porch, 45 East 13th Avenue.

Frankel is in charge of Holocaust Remembrance for OSU Hillel. He initially had a one-dimensional view of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but after a chance encounter with a fellow student's Palestinian heritage, he became interested in the prospects of cooperation.

While spending a summer at the Arava Institute in Israel, which focuses on environmental cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians, Frankel lived in a community of Israelis and Palestinians and forged meaningful relationships with people traditionally considered to be his "enemies."
