Tucson law firm receives Bicycle Friendly Business designation

The League of American Bicyclists announced the Law Office of Eric Post is a Silver Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB), in a diverse and groundbreaking number of 111 new BFBs across the United States. The variety in the type and size of businesses applying for the BFB award shows the many different ways to create a Bicycle Friendly Business.  The Law Office of Eric Post has worked hard to increase bicycle friendliness in the workplace. They now join the ranks of the other 252 BFBs.

“We are happy to recognize the Law Office of Eric Post for their investment in bicycling as a vehicle for improved employee health, social responsibility and economic growth,” said League president, Andy Clarke. “Some of the most successful companies in the world are showing that investing in bicycling is not only good for health and sustainability but also the bottom line.”

The League of American Bicyclists’ awards will be presented at Interbike in Las Vegas on September 15. For a complete list of Bicycle Friendly Communities, click here.

Andy Clarke will be conducting a workshop in Tucson on September 16, entitled “Advocacy Advance,” to train community advocates and government staff on bringing more grant funding to the Tucson region for bicycling programs and infrastructure.  Alliance for Biking & Walking’s President Jeffrey Miller is co-presenting at the workshop.  Advocacy Advance is hosted by Tucson’s Living Streets Alliance.

Businesses that strive to become bicycle friendly do more than improve the workplace. They contribute to the community and improve their overall earnings.  Staff are active members of several cycling organizations and advocacy groups, and, as bicyclists, they are uniquely qualified to help other cyclists in the event of a collision.  The Law Office of Eric Post encourages bicycling as an easy option for transportation and provides amenities such as indoor bike parking.

“We are proud of the roadmap that the Bicycle Friendly Business program provides and how the Law Office of Eric Post used it to transform into a silver BFB,” said Bill Nesper, Director of the League’s Bicycle Friendly America program.

The Law Office of Eric Post and our accompanying Fall 2011 BFBs have taken advantage of the free tools and technical assistance that the League offers. The League guides companies through many simple, effective and creative ways to get businesses and their employees biking and encouraging bicycling in the workplace.

The Bicycle Friendly Community, Bicycle Friendly State, Bicycle Friendly Business and Bicycle Friendly University programs are generously supported by program partners Bikes Belong and Trek Bicycle’s One World, Two WheelsCampaign.
