The Tucson Book Festival has grown rapidly since its inception just a few years ago. It is now considered the 4th largest book festival.
The 2013 Tucson Festival of Books, March 9-10, promises to be another best seller with 400+ authors, 275 exhibitors, and hundreds of presentations, panel discussions, and book signings. Participants include such best-selling authors as Diana Gabaldon, Jodi Picoult, and John Sayles as well as children/youth authors Susan Lowell, Conrad Storad, R.L. Stine.
To mark this free event's fifth year, two programs have been launched that recognize and develop great writing: the Tucson Festival of Books Literary Awards writing competition and Masters Workshop.
The Tucson Festival of Books is located on the University of Arizona Mall - along East University Boulevard, stretching from the Old Main area to just east of Cherry Avenue, and in a few nearby buildings. For such a large event, the location is relatively compact.
Free public parking is available in the University's surface lots and in six garages: Cherry Avenue, Highland Avenue, Main Gate, Park Avenue, Sixth Street and Tyndall Avenue. (The Second Street Parking Garage is reserved.)
Details, including a full list of attending authors, are available on TucsonFestivalofBooks.org.
