The date of Tulsa’s football game against Tulane has been changed.
The Golden Hurricane will face the Green Wave in a Thursday night battle on Aug, 28 instead of Aug, 30, which the game was originally scheduled. It was announced in a press release from the school on Tuesday.
It will be both the season and league opener for the two teams in their American Athletic Conference debut after nine seasons in Conference USA. It will also be the only AAC game in the first three weeks of the regular season.
Tulsa leads the all-time series against Tulane, 8-2. The Green Wave won last year’s game 14-7 in New Orleans.
The last meeting in Tulsa was in 2012 when the Golden Hurricane won a 45-10 rout.
It will mark the second consecutive year Tulsa will begin its season on a Thursday night and the first time since 2006 it will open its campaign at home.
It is also the second time in the offseason that TU has had top make adjustments to its 2014 schedule. It’s game against Oklahoma was moved from Sept. 20 to Sept. 6 back in February.
