Tulsa was hoping to produce a different outcome against TCU despite playing on the road. But it did not happen as the Golden Hurricane suffered a 70-58 loss to the Horned Frogs Saturday in Ft. Worth, Texas.

TCU beat TU 72-65 in the Great Alaska Shootout back on Nov. 29.

The Golden Hurricane (4-8) owned a 36-29 halftime advantage, and were up by 10 points with over three minutes into the second half when Lew Evans hit a basket. That made the score 43-33.

But the Horned Frogs (8-3) stormed back with a 13-2 run, taking the lead at 46-45 after free throws from Thomas Montigel with 12:06 left.

TU would get the lead back on lay-up by Tim Peete.

Jarvis Ray would get tip-in basket for TCU with 11:25 to go and the Horned Frogs never trailed again.

James Woodard led Tulsa with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Rashad Smith also got 12 points for the Golden Hurricane.

Kyan Anderson led TCU with 25 points.

TU will remain on the road where it will meet Maryland on Dec. 29.
