Honestly, I've met a whole bunch of progressive Catholics, and as a whole, they're just as friendly and personable as any group of people on God's green earth. And in a broken way, sharing in the brokenness of us all, they start out with the right intention. Their goal is to be faithful Catholics; the result of their efforts, however, is far from Catholic.

Catholic Social Teaching (the real stuff written by Popes, Bishops, and tradition-serving theologians) has always advocated for such vital topics as women's rights, minorities rights, worker's rights, and equal opportunity for the poor and oppressed. And many a progressive Catholic enters movements which espouse these very same themes with their Catholicism on their sleeve! They are, however, encountered by radical forms of each movement which naturally tend to take over the movement and demand the Catholic leave their Catholicism at the door before entering.

This explains, for example, Catholics working for women's rights. A good thing in and of itself; yet hijacked by radical feminists and secular atheists and embryo salesmen, who turn a decent movement into an immoral atrocity!
Some left-leaning Catholics keep the faith and leave the movement. The other 99% acquiesce to pressure and become part of the demons of the culture of death. Polar opposite of the 'image of God' in the Lord who professed to be 'the way, the truth, and the Life!'
Prayer, example, and advocacy for Life are tirelessly needed, since a minority of Catholics truly believe in Life as taught by Christ's Catholic Church. Will you be one of them?
