IPhones and iPads help us with communication, organization, and efficiency. Now with these five iTunes applications they can assist with your weight loss goals as well. Tracking your progress has never been easier.
Fooducate - Use this app to scan barcodes on food and receive a food 'grade', healthier alternatives, and an explanation of what is actually in the food. Keep track of exercise, food choices, and calorie quality. If you can't find a food in the system, submit it for analysis.
DailyBurn FoodScanner - This app uses your iPhone’s camera to scan barcodes on food and provide complete nutritional information. This is a simple way to determine daily caloric intake. No signup is required, however, to access nutrition history and macronutrient breakdown, sync with a DailyBurn account.
Diet ScanCalc – Scan a product barcode with this app and it provides nutritional information, as well as a ‘food score’. The ‘food score’ is much like Weight Watchers points, however they are not affiliated. This is an easy way to keep track of calories or points.
Lose it! - This app allows you to set a daily calorie budget, and then track diet and exercise to stay within that budget. A database of foods and activities, macronutrient tracking, and detailed reports are all available. Set up a Loseit.com account for more features.
Intelli – Diet App - This app allows you to enter which foods you have available and creates a well-balanced diet. Diets can also be customized by gender, weight, activity level, and food preference. Features include an automatically generated shopping list, easy food swaps, and weight loss progress in charts and tables.
