Who doesn't love pie?! Even better: Free pie! Food & Friends will again host free pie tasting events throught the DC area beginning Tuesday, October 19th through Friday, October 22nd in order to celebrate the kick-off of the Slice of Life Pie Sales. The fourth annual Slice of Life Thanksgiving pie sale – presented by Walmart – is a simple and delicious way for members of the public to support Food & Friends’ large-scale effort to deliver one million nutritious meals this year to those in the DC community most in need. The goal this year is to sell more than 6,000 pies. Each pie purchased will provide ONE FULL DAY of MEALS for a Food & Friends client.
WHAT: To officially kick off this year’s Slice of Life Pie Sale, Food & Friends will be holding several public tasting events throughout the region over the course of next week. During each event, Food & Friends will be distributing information about Slice of Life, raffling off prizes, and giving away samples of their delicious pies that are currently for sale to raise funds to support Food & Friends’ ongoing mission to provide home-delivered meals and groceries to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses in our community.

- Tuesday, October 19th – 11:30am to 1:30pm Location: Marriott at Metro Center (on the corner of 12th & H Street, NW, Washington, DC)
- Wednesday, October 20th – 11:30am to 1:30pm Location: CVS in Dupont Circle (6 Dupont Circle, NW, Washington, DC)
- Thursday, October 21st – 11:30am to 1:30pm Location: Downtown Silver Spring (near the Potbelly on Ellsworth Dr., Silver Spring, MD)
- Friday, October 22nd – 5:00 to 7:00 pm Location: Logan Tavern (on the front patio at 1423 P Street, NW, Washington, DC)
