The esteemed cheese ball is a staple at nearly every holiday gathering from coast to coast. This sweet version includes cream cheese and maraschino cherries for a delightful twist on a savory appetizer. Serve with crackers, pita chips or fresh fruit.
CHERRY CHEESE BALL
- 2 (8 ounce packages) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 10 maraschino cherries, finely chopped
- ¾ cup pecans, toasted & chopped
In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat at medium speed until smooth. Stir in cherries then shape into a ball. Roll in pecans to completely coat. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
Cook's Notes-For a slightly different flavor, roll the cheese ball in crushed graham crackers or vanilla wafers.
