The Truths of Scouting is a documentary about Boy Scouts ant their effect on our community from the words of your fellow Scouts and Scouters in the Denver area council. As Scouters, we know the tremendous impact the Scouting program has in the Denver area. This program is a great opportunity to share with your family friends and neighbors about the important set of values that are the pillar of our Scouting community.
The Truths of Scouting will show that the Boy Scouts are more than just a source of great Trails End Popcorn. It will highlight the service and projects that have aided our local cities and towns. The personal experiences of the Scouts and Scouters shows the impact the program has made on their lives. It is a good bet that the experiences will be reflective of ones you have had.
As leaders in the Denver Area Council we have each taken on the responsibility to provide example of Citizenship, Service and Leadership. In these lessons we create community for both ourselves and the youth we guide. From the faces of the Tiger Cubs on the Set of 9 News to the tired smiles of the Boy Scouts returning from National Jamboree, the building of community exists. It is community that has made our country strong and Boy Scouts has had significant strides in this area.
The Scouts in the Denver Area have the opportunity for great experiences and opportunities. There are wonderful BSA owned camping facilities. They are staffed by highly experienced personnel who give to the Scouts because they have discovered their community within the Scouting family.
Take the opportunity to watch The Truths of Scouting on Sunday November 27, 2011. It airs at 1 PM on Denver’s own Rocky Mountain PBS channel 6.
