Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. [Prov. 8:13.] (Proverbs 3:7 AMP)
We go through our lives having to make decisions and we don't always ask God for His opinion. And we do pretty good at guessing what seems like the right thing to choose so inwardly we're proud of us and the way we've lived life.
That's not the way it should be at all. First of all pride is the sin that caused Satan to fall from heaven and God's presence. It's a cloak of darkness we wear, someone said.
How do we remedy this quandary? We go before God. Bow in our heart and tell Him we've done life without Him. Some of the decisions came out OK. But we know that ministry and blessing were missing in some places because we made decisions on our own. We apologize for our choices and pride. We need forgiveness, please, Lord. Help us begin anew and make our choices consulting you first.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
He'll place each step before us. There's a verse in Proverbs that says mysteries are hidden in God and it's the king's job to find them. So it may take some searching but that's only because He wants relationship with us. It will be worth mining out the gems.
