Mark Trumbo is headed to the Valley of the Sun for a long-term stay.

The Angels' top power hitter in each of the past three seasons, the 27-year-old was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday as part of a three-team deal also involving the Chicago White Sox.

The Angels get left-hander Tyler Skaggs from the D-Backs and left-hander Hector Santiago from the ChiSox in the deal. Arizona receives Trumbo and minor-league pitcher A.J. Schugel from the Halos and a player to be named from Chicago, while outfielder Adam Eaton heads to the South Side.

Trumbo played the last three seasons with the Halos and led the team in home runs in all three, hitting 29 homers in 2011, 32 homers in 2012 and 34 homers in 2013. He also had 282 RBI in that stretch but hit just .251 with a .773 OPS in 1,703 at-bats.

Skaggs comes back to the team that drafted him as a sandwich pick in 2009. The 22-year-old was sent to the D-Backs in August of 2010 as the player to be named later in the deal that brought Dan Haren to the Halos in exchange for Joe Saunders, Patrick Corbin and Rafael Rodriguez just before the trade deadline.

In 13 starts over the last two seasons, Skaggs was 3-6 with a 5.43 ERA in 68 innings of work.

Santiago comes to the Angels after making 2013 his first full major-league season. In 34 appearances, including 23 starts, the 25-year-old was 4-9 with a 3.56 ERA in 149 innings pitched.

In parts of three seasons, Santiago has a 3.41 ERA in 224-2/3 innings over 78 appearances.
