"True Blood," the hit vampire fantasy will close its seven season run after the end of the seventh season, according to a press release from HBO on Sept. 3, 2013. HBO's President of TV Programming announced that there would be one more season of the hit vampire fantasy series and the series would come to an end. The seventh season of the series, which will air in the summer 2014, will be the final season of the fantasy show with a cult-like following.

Lombardo made the formal announcement on Sept. 3 and it was released in a press release from HBO premium cable network. There will be ten episodes released for the seventh season, which airs during the summer of 2013.

"True Blood" stars Anna Pacquin as Sookie Stackhouse, Bill Compton as Bill Compton, and Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman. The cast also includes: Sam Trammell as Sam Merlotte, Ryan Kwanten as Jason Stackhouse, Rutina Wesley as Tara Thornton, Chris Bauer as Andy Bellefleur, Nelsan Ellis as Lafayette Reynolds, Carrie Preston as Arlene Fowler, Todd Lowe as Terry Bellefleur, Deborah Ann Woll as Jessice Hamby and Kristin Bauer van Straten as Pam De Beaufort.
One of HBO's most popular series ever, "True Blood" was created by Alan Ball, who also created the Emmy winning HBO series "Six Feet Under." The series is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by author Charlaine Harris.
"True Blood" follows the romances and adventures of waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård).
The fantasy story takes place in Bon Temps and in the supernatural world of vampires and faeries. Romance, suspense, mystery and humor are combined in this story about the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps. The vampires have been able to come out of the coffin because a mass-produced synthetic blood means they no longer need human blood for nutrition.
