It only took two episodes during the third season of "True Blood" for HBO to know they had a winner here. In a new statement, the network has announced that the vampire drama will be back for another season of drama, action, and a shocking amount of nudity.

HBO president Michael Lombardo had this to say about the decision:

“The new season of TRUE BLOOD is off to a terrific start, as enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics ... We’re looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year.”

Meanwhile, Ball (who adapted the show and frequently writes and directs episodes) added his thoughts:

“I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew ... This is the most fun I have ever had.”

Ball and company will begin shooting season four in Los Angeles next year, with a projected premiere date of summer 2011.
