This episode of "True Blood" reminded us of one of life's most obvious truths -- sex is a powerful force. It can bring people back together, be used for revenge, or even to escape the problems of the surrounding world.
A few examples from this week's episode:
Sookie: After leaving Bill Compton following a certain blood-sucking incident in the back of the truck, the two tried to go their separate ways -- that is, until Russell tried to steal Sookie back and Bill (along with Jessica at his side) showed up to help. The end result of all of this? Passion, even if the two are supposedly breaking up.
Jason: His relationship with Crystal is one of the most bizarre on the show right now, mainly since she alternates between loving him and being incredibly mysterious about the whole ordeal. Intimacy was for the two of them this week a chance to get closer together, only if it was to end with the same cloud of suspicion.
Eric: Mr. Northman came up with a fantastic way to enact revenge on Russell for killing his family so long ago -- killing one of the few people that he loves. HBO pushed the envelope with the scene, mainly because of the violence associated to the end with it. Again, faking love was a fine form of manipulation.
There were of course some other plots in motion this week -- Sam doing him best to save Tommy, Lafayette and Jesus getting closer, and even the tiny few seconds of Terry we received. However, what we really learned at the end of the day here is that Bill and Sookie are made for each other -- even if they don't want to admit it.
