True Blood: Attack of the really stupid sex zombies

With three episodes left in the season, this episode was all about ramping up the danger, and bringing it home.

As I figured last week, it looks like we've left the Fellowship of the Sun behind for this season. They're not going away, I'm sure they'll return next season but for now, the danger lies at home.

Everyone returns to Bon Temps, and immediately realizes that something weird is going on. It's like a zombie movie, except the zombies are just really horny and into getting smacked around.

Maryann runs the town, with only a few exceptions. Shapeshifter Sam and drunken Andy are holed up in a motel, hunted by the rest of the population.

From there, Maryann keeps sending her sex zombies out to find Sam. For some reason, he's the key and the crowd at Merlotte pins them into the freezer, then forgets to let Maryann know.

Pretty hilarious stuff with the sex zombies, as they keep getting outsmarted. When your mind-controlled soldiers aren't interested in anything other than sex and violence, they're not the most reliable henchmen.

Sookie and Bill confront Maryann, and we find out she's not very tasty. Bill tries to bite her, and it gets him very sick. Sookie, however, is able to hurt Maryann with some kind of weird light from her hands. No explanation yet, perhaps that power is left over from her time as Rogue in the X-Men movies.

To get out of danger, Sam shapeshifts in front of Jason and Andy. That'll probably result in some discussion later, once the immediate danger is over.

After a combination of Bill's glamour and Sookie's telepathy breaks Tara out of her black-eyed funk, Bill elects to go see an old friend to try and find out how to stop Maryann.

So the episode ends with Bill gone, and everyone else hiding out and waiting for word on what to do about Maryann. With two episodes left, looks like the next episode will divide the forces and set up the final episode.

This one did a good job of clearly spelling out the focus, right now, all of the previous conflicts with the Fellowship and other vampires have gone back-burner for the big problem with Maryann. This was a well done episode that  really gets you ready for the final two shows.
