As everyone should know by now, Jamie Dornan will play the lead role of Christian Grey in the upcoming cinematic adaptation of “50 Shades of Grey,” after “Sons of Anarchy” actor Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the project. But there are other characters in the story, and it looks like another role has been filled, according to an Oct. 25 report from Variety.
Luke Grimes, who plays James on HBO’s hit vampire show “True Blood,” has been cast as Christian’s brother, Elliot, in the film. Grimes’ other film roles include “Taken 2” and the recently released indie thriller “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.”
Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele, while Sam-Taylor Johnson will direct a screenplay by Kelly Marcel.
The two leads have been cast for the adaptation of E.L. James’ erotic novel, but Variety reports that Universal Pictures and Focus Features are still seeking to fill some supporting character roles – including Anastasia’s roommate, Kate, and Christian’s bodyguard.
