It’s been a good while since America’s truck drivers have made a political statement via their snarling of traffic with their trucks on the nation’s highways, but they will be doing so again this weekend, according to a US News report on Tuesday.
Truck drivers – working American who have just about had it with the nation’s horrendous fuel prices, the federal government’s numerous regulations, their low wages, and the current government shutdown in Washington, D.C. – will stage a three-day protest which they are calling “Truckers Ride for the Constitution.” In the Oct. 11-13 enactment of the protest, truck drivers from near and far will show up at the nation’s capital to block three lanes of Interstate 495 which goes around the nation’s capital.
Those involved with setting up the protest are estimating that some-3,000 truckers will be on-hand to participate in the weekend protest and rally. The protest is also to cooperate with motorcycle drivers who show up displaying the protester’s motto “T2SDA” which means “Truckers to Shut Down America.” Motorcyclists with the motto in view will be allowed to pass the wall of trucks blocking other traffic.
According to a press release by the group, the stage is now set for what is considered the last peaceful defensive stand in a war that has been declared by Wall Street, Washington, and President Barack Obama’s Whitehouse upon the American people.
The movement is being supported widely by social media users via the hashtag #T2SDA.
