On Tuesday, NASCAR announced the indefinite suspension of Marshal Faust, a crew member for Red Horse Racing, a team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, for violation of the sanctioning body's substance abuse policy. Faust was also fired from Red Horse Racing.
After the announcement from NASCAR, Red Horse Racing also released a statement.
"Red Horse Racing supports the NASCAR Subsance Abuse Policy, as well as the Road to Recovery Program," the statement from the race team read. "In addition to NASCAR's testing, Red Horse Racing also has our own quarterly drug testing policy. Red Horse Racing has a zero tolerance policy, and Marshal Faust is no longer employed by the team."
Faust may opt to participate in NASCAR's Road to Recovery Program. Upon completion of the program, if he can find employment with another race team, he may be reinstated by NASCAR.
