Potholes in Michigan are getting worst than ever. On Thursday, in the Kroger parking lot, at 12 mile and Evergreen Road, a woman was driving her Ford pick-up truck and it fell into a hole, according to a Dress Barn employee. The hole appears to measure, approximately, the size of a casket. A "Fix Our Roads Tour" is underway in the Detroit area.
Kroger officials came to the woman's rescue to assist her, and EMS was called to the scene. The woman needed assistance getting out of her red truck, but she appeared to be okay. The whole incident happened around 1:30 pm. The pothole, which is more like a sinkhole, can be easily missed if you are traveling from the east direction going west.
The hole is directly in front of the Dress Barn clothing store. On Tuesday evening, a grocery cart was in the hole so that drivers or pedestrians would not fall in. But by Thursday, the buggy has been removed.
The city of Southfield has funding to improve and give Evergreen road a face-lift starting this summer lasting into 2015. From 11 Mile Road to 10 mile, the roads are bumpy and in great need of repair. Round-a-bouts will be placed in two locations, whereby making the downtown area more user friendly and safer.
