Leading fragrance development company Tru Fragrance, has forecasted the hottest fragrance note for the upcoming winter 2012 season; Iris. The floral fragrance note, Iris, has been the premiere choice of perfumers and designers for their upcoming winter 2012 fragrance launches. The “It” fragrance note, also known as the seasons “HipNote,” is expected to be found in the majority of new fragrances which will launch for the upcoming winter season.
Fragrance fans here in the San Francisco Bay Area will be pleasantly pleased to find “Iris” in many of the new fragrance launches for the winter season. Some of the most popular scents in the Bay Area have “Iris” as their heart note, including Chanel 19 Poudre and Burberry Body.
“Iris” has gained momentum in popularity in Europe and is traveling to American perfume brands for the upcoming winter season. The floral note offers an earthy quality which adds depth to a fragrance. “Iris” is also known to have a medium-heaviness scent which fits right in with the current trend of heavier perfumes. “Iris” also tends to have a voluptuous scent which is warm and works well with woody notes that are typically found in winter fragrances.
With "Iris" being the "HipNote" for winter 2012, it should be interesting to see if perfumers use the note for pure, warm floral fragrances or if they mix it with warm woods to create woody floral fragrances; which are more typical of the winter season.
