A Troy football player was found dead laying on a Mississippi highway on Thursday. This mysterious death is under investigation as 20-year-old Jadarius Garner’s lifeless body was discovered on U.S. Highway 61 after two cars had run him over, according to Fox News Sports on Jan. 3.
Police were called to the Bolivar County highway with reports of a two car accident. This is when they found Garner’s body, about three miles south of Oreilly, Mississippi. Why was this defense end for the Troy football team dead in the middle of the highway at 2:30 in the morning?
Troy football coach Larry Blakeney said in a statement:
“This is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts and prayers go out to Jadarius’s family in this time of grief.”
Garner played defensive end for the Trojans and he had just finished his second season with the team after transferring from Mississippi’s Jones County Community College. He was named the Sun Belt Conference defensive player. Garner’s death is under investigation today.
