According to CBSsportsline.com, Troy football player Dimitri Miles was arrested and charged with murder on Sunday. Miles was arrested after an off campus shooting resulted in a death at an apartment complex.

Dimitri Miles, who is 21, was a walk-on linebacker for the Trojans, and spent his junior season on the scout team after being declared academically ineligible. After the arrest, the Troy administration released a statement via John Hartwell.

"First and foremost, anytime there is a loss of life it is a tragic event and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and his family," Troy athletic director John Hartwell said in a statement announcing that Miles' "association with our football team and the Troy Athletic Department has been terminated."

According to Al.com, Dimitri Miles killed 26-year-old Marquise McClendon on Sunday. The Troy Police Department responded to the 400 block of South Brundidge Street at 7:55 a.m. Soon after, McClendon was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Dimitri Miles was hauled off to the Pike County Jail, and bond is set at $100,000.

Not only did Troy denounce Dimitri Miles from the football team, they deleted his player profile from Troy’s athletic website. The Trojans wasted no time in getting rid of any evidence of Miles’ existence within the Troy program.
