Troy native Adryana Washock bowed out in the initial round of Thursday night's "Chef Wanted with Ann Burrell."
The Food Network series, which pits hungry chefs against each other in competition for a real-life job at a different restaurant each week, begins with four chefs cooking under Burrell's unyielding supervision to impress restaurant owners.
This episode was set in California, where Warshock moved several months ago. She had been working with Illium Cafe chef/co-owner Marla Ortega, and returned to the Troy restaurant after this episode was taped.
While she was unsuccessful in this instance, I didn't see her as the loser. Rather, the loser was Burrell for her geographically smarmy comment to Washock, "You're not in Upstate New York anymore."
Get your nose out of the air, Burrell.
