The photographs depict that the dog's head was nearly decapitated by an embedded collar, grown deep into her neck, over years of constant chaining and neglect.

According to animal control, the dog's owner is in jail in another county. Howington took the dog directly to her vet, where she is being treated.

The dog is approximately 2 years old. If a rescue or an individual can provide safe refuge for this dog, contact 334 508-2367. You may donate to her care by calling Jones Animal Clinic at 334 735-2315 or at Pay Pal scdapr@gmail.com
