The annual Trout Fishing Derby at Lake Gregory, sponsored by the Crestline/Lake Gregory Chamber of Commerce, beings this Saturday April 12, 2014, at 7:00 a.m.

It’s that time of year again! Time to shake the dust off your tackle boxes re-line your fishing poles, and practice your cast.

The Derby will take place on the second Saturday of each month between April and October, starting at 7:00am. There will be ten (10) tagged fish dropped in the lake each month. The grand prize for the tagged first place fish will be $1000.00. This grand prize will increase by $250 every month that the fish is not caught. There will be nine (9) other prizes awarded for tagged fish caught, with a value of $100 or more.

The Crestline/Lake Gregory Chamber of Commerce guarantees all prizes. In order to qualify for the Derby and receive awards, you must purchase an entry ticket at $20.00 per fisherman, which can be purchased at the Chamber office, Goodwin’s Market, Crestline 7 Eleven, Lake Drive Hardware (Ace) and Rim Bowling & Entertainment Center. Make sure you obtain a California fishing license which can be purchased at Lake Drive hardware, before each Derby.

The Lake Gregory Recreation Company has already stocked the lake with over 5000 fish and will continue stocking the lake throughout the 2014 season.

From the serious fisherman and family looking for some fun in the sun and a great way to spend the day together, all are welcome.
