On Sunday, country music singer Mindy McCready, shot her dog and then herself, on the front porch of her Heber Springs, Ark., home.
The troubled, 37-year-old singer had attempted suicide twice before, and her life was shrouded with turmoil.
Just weeks ago, her boyfriend, David Wilson, died at the same home, on the same porch, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The circumstances surrounding Wilson's death are still under investigation
McCready also battled substance abuse and mental health issues; as a result, her two children were taken into foster care. The children were not at home at the time of her death.
According to the Chicago Tribune, officials with the Cleburne County Sheriff arrived to McCready's home in the afternoon, following calls of "shots fired."
Deputies confirmed that the troubled star had died, "from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound."
McCready rose to fame after releasing her first album, Ten Thousand Angels, back in 1996.
