Beer, wine, and liquor dinners have become all the rage in the Des Moines Metro over the past couple of years, and a new one has been announced for next week. Clive small dish restaurant Trostel's Dish will host a beer dinner featuring specialty beers from importer Merchant du Vin on Tuesday, April 15. Dish's Chef Jed Hoffman will create a four-course meal to complement five Merchant du Vin imports. Jason Wallace, Regional Representative for Merchant du Vin, will be on hand to discuss some of "the world's finest handcrafted beers." The dinner will be $55 per person (plus tax and gratuity), and reservations for the event are required. Reservations may be made by calling the restaurant at (515) 221-3474.

The Merchant du Vin Beer Dinner will kick off with a welcome reception at 6 p.m. Here is a look at the menu that Chef Hoffman has planned for the meal, along with the beers that will be served:

Roasted Chicken and Frites with Dijon and Truffle Aioli and Apple Compote
Beer: Rochefort 10 Trappist Ale

Belgian Waffle with Amaretto Whipped Cream and Gran Marnier Orange Marmalade
Beer: Lindeman's Faro Lambic
