While Hurricane Danielle takes the headlines this week on the verge of reaching Category 3 status, Tropical Storm Earl may be a bigger problem down the line.  This storm is just getting started and will be passing through a favorable environment allowing it to strengthen further.  This includes warmer sea surface temperatures and little to no upper level wind shear.

Winds have increased to 45 mph and Tropical Storm force winds extend 60 miles away from the center of the storm.

The long rang forecast models show the storm staying farther south than Danielle, which could allow it to approach the US East Coast next week.  See the latest images and forecasts in the slide show below.
