Cops booked Rosemary Brown, 48, and Michael Lerhinan, 57, both of Riverhead, after a trooper stopped to question them at 11:05 p.m. on Friday. In a news release, state police said the two were “acting suspiciously” near The Big Duck, a monument on State Route 24 in Flanders.
The two were arrested after troopers determined they were in possession of crack cocaine. Authorities said Brown was found in possession of “articles that contained cocaine residue,” while Lerhinan was in possession of felony weight crack cocaine.
Police said the two were charged with third-degree, fifth-degree and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They were arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court and subsequently remanded to the Suffolk County Jail.
