“Dancing with the Stars” fans missed the presence of professional dancer Tristan McManus during season 18. Word has come down that he won’t be returning in season 19 either. According to a June 2 report on Wetpaint, the tousle-headed dancer will be strutting his stuff over in England on the British version of the show, “Strictly Come Dancing.”
The talented performer will be a competing dance pro on the British version of the celebrity dance competition show. He will still be earning scores from judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli who pull double duty on both shows. That is, unless Len drops out of “Dancing with the Stars” as has been rumored for a couple of seasons now. Then Len would only be appearing on the British show.
This is definitely sad news as the Irish lad with the dancing feet and twinkling eyes was sorely missed last season. He never really got to show what he could do as a competitor because he wasn’t ever given a worthy partner. He often was saddled with the older ladies who were never going to make it to the finals anyway.
McManus joined the show in Season 13 and stuck it out for 5 years, often finishing poorly. His partners were TV personality Nancy Grace with whom he earned a 5th place in season 13, Gladys Knight, with whom he earned 8th place in season 14, Pamela Anderson, with whom he landed at 13th place in season 15, Dorothy Hamill, with whom he landed 12th in season 16 and with Valerie Harper in Season 17 where he ended up 10th. Perhaps he will have better luck across the pond.
Here’s wishing Tristan all the best in his new gig, though we really wish he would reconsider. “Strictly Come Dancing” doesn’t air in the U.S. but we can probably find his routines posted on YouTube.
