The Trick or Treat on Mainstreet event is one of the most anticipated and celebrated of all the Halloween treats in Douglas County.

This year it's bigger and better than ever! This event has grown and grown with last year swelling to over 10,000 kids out trick-or-treating. That's just the kids, folks, so you can see some serious adjustments had to be made. Enter the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club (the founders of this event) and the Town of Parker agreed to close down Mainstreet just like they do for the Parker Farmers Market, so if you are familiar with that parking, this will be the same. Mainstreet will be closed off with fun booths and things to do up and down the streets and along the sidewalks from Mainstreet and Victorian Circle to Victorian Circle and all down Pikes Peak Drive. There will also be a haunted walk down Victorian Peaks way this year. 

When: Halloween - October 31 - 4:00-7:30 p.m.

Where: Mainstreet area, Victorian Peaks, O'Brien Park, the Gazebo

Included Free Events: Festive entertainers, free candy at booths and store fronts, Haunted Walk, Face Painting

What do you need to do? Nothing! Just bring your happily costumed kids and dogs along for the annual costume contests and a bag for your kids' candy, and of course your camera. The photos in the slide show are from last year, so you and your kid may now be famous!

Parker businesses that reside on Mainstreet will be providing candy for trick-or-treaters. Please be courteous, folks, many of these businesses may not get 10,000 people in there a year so think about buying a candle or holiday wreath from Becca's Store (Fruits of Our Spirit), a wine accessory from Shari's Store (The Wine Nook/Vines) (yes, we are on a first-name basis in Parker, get used to it!), a beautiful fresh flower arrangement from The Parker Flower Shop, a cup of hot coffee or cocoa from Fika Coffee, a piece of Brightons jewelry or fashion accessory from Panache, dog and cat accessories, and a plethora of other local businesses to visit on the west end of Mainstreet. Parker Station is already the favorite of the holiday season. New management and possibly brewers since you've been in there start off your adventures at The Parker Station with four micro-brews served daily plus the usual suspects at "Falcon Pub," and if you haven't been in, visit Selah at Nomelie Cupcakes, another must-do in Parker.

The kids will be sugared up by now so feel free to stay and enjoy dinner at one of these fine established and new spots on or near Mainstreet.
