Doors co-founder and keyboardist died this past May and bandmates John Densmore and Robby Krieger are tentatively planning a tribute show to honor Manzarek in February but if you don’t want to wait until February and you live in New York the band Feast of Friends is planning a tribute this Thursday August 22nd at Santos Party House in New York.
Feast of Friends isn’t a full-time gig for its members who include Matt Katz-Bohen of Blondie, Leo Kremer the bassist from Third Eye Blind, Chad Dinzes who plays in the band Licorice and the Phish tribute band Strange Design, Bradford Rand on vocals and Ty Dennis who of late played drums for the Manzarek-Krieger Band. They’ve been playing together as Feast of Friends for six years and only perform as Feast of Friends once or twice a year.
To honor Manzarek’s memory the band will play an all ages show at Santos Party House, 96 Lafayette St, Manhattan, NY, the show starts at 7:30PM and is only $10 to get in!
You may notice on the poster of the event it mentions Ty Dennis as the drummer for The Doors, Dennis never played with The Doors he has played with members of The Doors in the various incarnations of bands that Manzarek and Krieger have had over the past 11 or 12 years.
